Insurance
“Out-of-network provider” for all insurance plans not listed below. (I am opted-out of Medicare. Tricare for Life-only clients will pay 80% of the contracted rate “out-of-pocket” as their cost-sharing.)
Fees / Good Faith Estimate for Cash-Pay or Uninsured Clients Notification
Individual therapy is a dynamic process, and has many variables. Most clients are seen between eight and 30 sessions, and insurance can affect the final amount you owe (if any) in terms of co-pays, deductibles, and contracted rates. I follow the contracted procedures for all insurances that I accept. The following are my current cash-pay rates as of 4/1/2026.
- $265 for an initial intake session / $220 per hour (and $165 for each additional 1/2-hour) thereafter for as many sessions as mutually agreed-upon.
If you are Cash-Pay or Uninsured:
- You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
- Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
- You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
- For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit: www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
